Experienced Landscape Architect/Project Manager

Overview:

Appel Osborne has been fortunate to experience a steadily growing workload and therefore support significant growth in recent years. As such, we are looking for experienced landscape architects with project management experience to contribute to our team’s success in either our Syracuse, NY, Buffalo, NY, or Troy, NY offices. Our workload consists of various projects throughout New York State, where we provide services such as sustainable design, custom site detailing, grading, drainage, and storm water management. We pride ourselves on fostering an office culture that promotes collaboration, support, team building, and genuine team appreciation. It is imperative to the atmosphere of our firm that you feel comfortable asking questions when needed and mentoring others when able.

Qualifications and Impact:

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • BLA from an accredited, professional degree program
  • Proficiency with technical skills including site engineering, grading, drainage, technical details, AutoCAD
  • A minimum of ten (10) projects acting as Project Manager from schematic design through construction administration 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NYS Licensure
  • Familiarity with NYSDEC regulations for Storm Water Pollution Prevention
  • Familiarity with the NYS SEQRA process
  • Familiarity with K-12 public school and Higher Education capital projects
  • Familiarity with issuing Request for Proposals for Geotechnical Engineering and Land Surveying services

As a Project Manager, you will gradually take on projects when comfortable with our firm’s standards and expectations for contract drawings and client service, potentially at varying stages of project progression. To thrive in this role, you should be able to produce technically sound contract drawings, meet deadlines, and remain responsive to clients. Since our workload spans most of New York State, single-day travel will be required regularly to attend meetings and perform site visits. Your role as a Project Manager will include being a main point-of-contact for your projects to ensure project development and design progresses smoothly and on deadline.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $65,000-75,000 (unlicensed) salary range; $75,000-90,000 (licensed) salary range
