Athletic Complex Renovations
(Includes Synthetic Turf)

In 2004, Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture began the $2.5 million dollar site renovation project at the Penn Yan Academy. Appel Osborne was responsible for evaluating numerous site configurations related to various aspects of the project to achieve the best solution for the school district. The scope of work included a 400 meter all weather track, multiple grass playfields, an artificial turf, circulation and parking improvements, storm water management, and a relocation of a piped creek. The project was completed in 2005.

West Genesee CSD

Camillus, NY

Athletic Complex Renovations
(Includes Synthetic Turf)

In 2004, Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture began the second phase of a Capital Improvements project for the West Genesee Central School District. In addition to the multiple athletic field renovations, site design included new drives, parking, storm water management, and sidewalks. A comprehensive site phasing plan was prepared in coordination with the building phasing plan to help with teacher and student activities during construction. Approximate site construction costs are $6.0 million dollars.

Athletic Complex Renovations included the multi-purpose artificial turf lined for football, soccer and lacrosse. Other renovations included new tennis courts, a sodded practice field, resilient track resurfacing, baseball and softball playfields. Project is scheduled for completion in 2007.

Holland Patent CSD

Holland Patent, NY

Vehicular Circulation Improvements, Playscape

$820,000 estimated construction cost for pedestrian and vehicular circulation improvements, improved parking for buses and automobiles with the introduction of a front bus loop at the Middle School, playscapes at two Elementary Schools, design and other site work related to building renovations and additions.

Scope of services:  SEQR, survey coordination, contract documents, storm water management, bidding assistance and contract administration.
Playscape design for grades K-5.

Project was completed 2005.

Batavia CSD

Batavia, NY

Outdoor Learning Courtyard

In 2002, Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture
began the second phase of a Capital Improvements
project for the Batavia Central School District originally started in 2000. This phase included the design and construction of an “Outdoor Learning
Classroom/Cafeteria”. The new courtyard included
raised amphitheatre style seating areas for
outdoor learning classroom settings or for leisurely
eating areas.

Materials included textured concrete paving and
seating areas and landscaping with sodded lawns
and berms for student lounging. The Courtyard
was completed in 2004.

Edmeston CSD

Edmeston, NY

Utility Infrastructure Improvements

$2.5 million estimated construction cost for utility infrastructure improvements including new sanitary service, athletic field improvements, pedestrian and vehicular circulation improvements, improved parking for buses and automobiles with the introduction of a front parent/student drop off, design and other site work related to building renovations and additions.

Athletic field improvement design and planning work included:  Natural Turf field, outdoor basketball court, practice softball field, 400 meter six/six lane resilient track and field events.

Scope of services:  SEQR, survey coordination, contract documents, storm water management, bidding assistance and contract administration.
Project was completed 2005.
